A 3CX implementation involves more than simply installing the system. It also includes configuring users, extensions, call routing and the features required by the business.

What does a 3CX implementation involve?

The process can be divided into several key stages:

  • Analyzing the company's requirements.
  • Preparing the environment for the PBX.
  • Configuring users and extensions.
  • Integrating the SIP Trunk.
  • Configuring queues, IVR and call routing.
  • Testing and launching the system.

The scope of the project depends on the size of the company and the complexity of its existing infrastructure.

SIP Trunk integration

One of the key stages is connecting the PBX with the telecommunications provider. A SIP Trunk enables inbound and outbound calls and allows the company to use its business phone numbers.

Number porting

If a company already uses business phone numbers, implementation may include porting them to a new provider or configuring the existing numbers with the system. Number porting should be planned in advance to minimize the risk of interruptions to customer communications.

Training and support

After configuration, users should know how to handle basic PBX functions, transfer calls and manage incoming calls.

A successful 3CX implementation should also take into account ongoing maintenance and technical support.
